As part of our ongoing involvement in major projects across the DACH region, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to support the commercial management of large-scale construction programmes in Frankfurt.
Role Overview
The Commercial Lead will take full responsibility for the commercial performance and contractual administration of complex construction works. Acting as a key member of the senior project team, you will oversee valuations, cost management, subcontract procurement, contractual compliance, and financial reporting while supporting project delivery across multiple disciplines.
This role requires strong commercial expertise, excellent communication skills, and experience working on mission-critical construction environments such as data centres or pharmaceutical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Valuations, Cost Control & Reporting

Prepare monthly, interim, and final valuations as well as applications for payment.

Manage reconciliation of valuations and costs across contracts, subcontractors, specialists, and suppliers.

Provide accurate commercial data to support ongoing cashflow forecasting and contract reviews.
Contract Administration

Undertake detailed reviews of contract documentation and identify any anomalies or risks.

Agree interim and final valuations with client representatives.

Prepare comprehensive take-offs for the Estimating, Procurement, and Planning teams.

Compile, submit, and agree final accounts for completed sections of work.

Maintain detailed records of all contractual delays and commercial impacts.
Procurement & Supply Chain

Work closely with the Procurement Manager to place subcontracts within your remit.

Support the management of subcontractor packages and commercial deliverables.
Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and support surveyors and assistant/junior surveyors within the commercial team.

Promote high standards of collaboration, communication, and commercial governance.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
-
10+ years’ commercial management experience, ideally with a main contractor.
-
Strong background in construction or civil engineering projects; experience in pharmaceutical or data centre environments is highly advantageous.
Professional Competencies
-
Chartered or working toward chartership (SCS or equivalent).

Strong IT proficiency and familiarity with modern commercial management tools.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
