Role Overview
The Construction Planner will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules for large-scale pharmaceutical construction projects. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, the Planner will optimise timelines, coordinate resources, and minimise project risks and delays.
This role reports to the Project Director and supports the successful delivery of projects in Cork and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development: Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project. Break down project scope into work packages and activities aligned with project objectives.

Progress Monitoring: Track and update project progress against baseline schedules, identifying deviations and performing critical path analyses. Resolve resource conflicts and report on schedule status.

Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to validate schedule data. Facilitate progress meetings to review timelines, address delays, and implement corrective actions.

Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies. Analyse impacts of scope changes, delays, and unforeseen issues on project delivery.

Reporting: Prepare and deliver schedule reports, including Gantt charts, S-curves, and dashboards. Communicate key metrics, updates, and forecasts to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement: Support best practice adoption in planning and scheduling. Participate in lessons learned sessions to enhance processes for future projects.
Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field

3–5 years’ experience in construction planning and scheduling on medium to large-scale projects

Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project

Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and resource management

Knowledge of project management principles, including critical path method and earned value analysis

Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills

Team-oriented with the ability to build effective working relationships

Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to manage project delays and conflicts

Familiarity with Irish construction regulations, standards, and best practices
