Oradeo Recruitment are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering large-scale construction and civil engineering projects across the Dublin region. Reporting directly to the Project Director, this position is responsible for the successful management of one major project or multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across all phases of project delivery, managing project teams, commercial performance, client relationships, and operational resources. Contracts Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee the successful delivery of one major project or multiple concurrent construction projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Lead and support Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and site teams to ensure successful project execution
- Develop and monitor project programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with client requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, design teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
- Oversee commercial performance in collaboration with the Quantity Surveying team, ensuring effective cost control and profitability
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, statutory regulations, and company procedures
- Drive Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards across all projects, promoting a proactive safety culture
- Manage procurement strategies, subcontractor appointments, and resource planning to maximise project efficiency
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Chair project review meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior leadership
- Oversee quality assurance, project documentation, as-built information, commissioning, and handover processes
- Support business development activities, client engagement, and pre-construction presentations where required
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice across project delivery teams
Necessary Skills & Requirements:
- Third-level qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Management role with a main contractor
- Proven track record delivering multiple large-scale building or civil engineering projects
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, programmes, and financial performance
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and project delivery methodologies
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
- Thorough knowledge of Irish construction regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and quality management systems
- Highly organised with excellent planning and problem-solving skills
- Trade qualification or equivalent practical construction experience is advantageous
- Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Full EU Category B Driving Licence
- Eligible to work in Ireland
