Oradeo Recruitment are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager (Substations) to join their Power Transmission & Distribution business in Norway. This role offers overall responsibility for project delivery, quality, safety, and commercial performance. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate all aspects of project execution, and ensure client expectations are exceeded while upholding SHEQ standards.

 

Electrical Project Manager Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

  • Plan, control, and manage project delivery within agreed cost, schedule, and quality parameters
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers and support functions to deliver projects effectively
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions where necessary
  • Ensure resources are effectively allocated and project milestones are achieved
  • Maintain accurate reporting on project status, costs, quality, and performance indicators

 

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Instil a strong safety culture and visible leadership of Zero Harm initiatives
  • Ensure projects comply with statutory regulations, specifications, and internal standards
  • Drive continuous improvement across SHEQ and project delivery processes
  • Support audits, inspections, and reviews to maintain compliance

 

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Manage budgets, financial control, and commercial risks to achieve project targets
  • Support tender processes and the preparation of proposals
  • Proactively manage client relationships, including change management and decision-making
  • Understand relevant commercial terms and contract conditions

 

Leadership & Communication

  • Lead project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Display visible leadership and the right leadership behaviours
  • Collaborate across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial challenges

 

Necessary Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven experience at management level, with a track record of delivering standard and major projects
  • Experience managing substation schemes up to 400kV is preferable
  • Strong people management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercial awareness, including budgetary and financial control
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex operational and commercial problems
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to identify sensitive issues and lead towards solutions

Desirable:

  • Experience in EPC projects, power transmission, or renewable energy sectors
  • Familiarity with project management software and digital delivery tools
  • Professional membership in relevant engineering bodies or working towards it
  • Postgraduate qualification in project or business management
