Oradeo Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Head of Production on behalf of one of our clients who is a market leading specialist construction company. The company are specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of precast concrete to the UK & Irish construction markets. The company is headquartered in the Dublin area, with regional offices and manufacturing facilities in the UK.

Oradeo’s client has an award winning reputation who collaborate with some of the most prestigious Clients, Architects, Consultant Engineers, Professional practices and Contractors in Ireland and the UK. As Head of Production, you will play an integral part of the Senior Management team.

Job Overview:

The Head of Production will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process for our precast concrete facade products. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in production management, process optimization, and team leadership. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and safety of our production operations.

Head of Production Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands while optimizing resources and minimizing lead times.
Create and maintain production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality precast concrete facade products.

Process Optimisation:

Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase overall productivity.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to streamline operations.

Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for precast concrete facade products.
Implement and enforce quality control processes to identify and address any issues in the production process.

Resource Management:

Manage production resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel, to ensure optimal utilization and efficiency.
Identify opportunities for technology adoption or upgrades to enhance production capabilities.

Health & Safety:

Establish and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment for production staff.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and lead a skilled production team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and mentorship to team members.

Collaboration with other Departments:

Work closely with the engineering and design teams to ensure seamless coordination between product design and production requirements.
Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to optimize material flow and inventory management.

Continuous Improvement:

Establish a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and the implementation of new technologies to enhance production capabilities.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.

Necessary Requirements:

10+ years of experience in a senior production management role within the construction or manufacturing industry is desirable but not essential.
In-depth knowledge of precast concrete manufacturing processes would be an advantage but not essential.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and manage a team of up to 200 people with a diverse range of skilled trades.
