Oradeo Recruitment are seeking a Senior MEP Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial and contractual performance of multiple projects in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will lead project commercial teams, manage risk, and ensure profitability and compliance while acting as the key link between project teams, business leadership, and the Commercial Director.
Senior MEP Commercial Manager Responsibilities:
Commercial Leadership & Contract Management
- Lead the commercial management of multiple projects from tender to final account
- Review, negotiate, and execute all contractual documents prior to project commencement
- Manage commercial teams to deliver accurate reporting, valuations, cash management, and risk mitigation
- Support tendering, procurement, and contract negotiations, identifying and addressing risks and opportunities
- Implement the Internal Control and Risk Management Policy (ICRM) across allocated projects
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract execution, and supply chain management in line with company policy
- Drive margin protection and improvement through diligent application of commercial controls
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and lead Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors, supporting capability development and succession planning
- Promote collaboration and open communication across project teams, operations, and supply chain partners
- Ensure lessons learned are captured and embedded across the commercial team
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide clear and accurate reporting to the Commercial Director and business unit leadership on risks, financial performance, and contractual matters
- Support dispute management and resolution, liaising with internal legal teams as required
- Represent the company professionally with clients, consultants, and industry bodies
Necessary Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience in senior MEP commercial management within construction or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, risk management, and dispute resolution
- Experience managing and developing commercial teams across multiple projects or large-scale programmes
- Strong financial management and cost control skills, with ability to interpret project data for decision-making
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with design & build processes and multi-disciplinary project delivery
Desirable:
- Chartered membership of RICS, CIOB, or equivalent professional body
- Experience across multiple sectors including infrastructure, commercial building, or industrial projects
- Familiarity with digital commercial systems and reporting tools
- Experience with behavioural-based safety leadership
