Oradeo Recruitment are seeking a Site Engineer to join a leading contractor on data centre projects in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out the site, managing dimensional controls, ensuring construction quality, and providing technical guidance. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple trades while contributing to the efficient delivery of high-standard projects.
Site Engineer Responsibilities:
- Set out works in line with drawings, specifications, and site surveys
- Coordinate with planners to align site programmes and supplier outputs
- Review materials and ongoing works to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Contribute to Inspection & Test Plans and ensure subcontractors provide required test data
- Raise and resolve RFIs with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and statutory authorities
- Maintain quality control records in line with method statements and inspection procedures
- Review subcontractor drawings and ensure correct use of contract records and specifications
- Verify technical accuracy in purchase orders
- Conduct audits of compliance and performance across projects
- Integrate digital tools into construction and planning processes to improve efficiency
- Supervise and mentor junior or trainee engineers
- Provide input into measurements and valuations with the project Quantity Surveyor
- Maintain daily site diaries and prepare reports
- Carry out pre-start condition surveys and manage delivered materials
- Assist with installation of site facilities such as hoardings and accommodation
- Carry out snagging and de-snagging prior to handover
- Support safe working practices, including reviewing subcontractor safety plans and method statements
- Actively develop own skills and share knowledge with colleagues
Necessary Skills & Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in construction or project-based engineering roles
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in setting out using total stations, EDMs, lasers, and dumpy levels
- Proficient in checking works including drainage and reinforcement installations
- Experience across multiple trades: piling, geotechnical, substructures, superstructures, and facades
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Proactive problem-solving, resilience, and initiative
- SMSTS or MSIC certification
- First Aid and Lifting Supervisor certification
- Temporary Works Coordinator training
- Chartered or working towards professional membership (Engineers Ireland or Institution of Civil Engineers)
Desirable:
- Project Management qualification
- Experience with BIM, 3D scanning, or point cloud data
- Planning software proficiency
- Full driving licence
