We are recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing project team in Amsterdam, supporting the mechanical delivery of large-scale turnkey data centre projects.

Role Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will manage mechanical engineering tasks on site, coordinating with contractors and project teams to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality delivery of mechanical systems. The role involves both technical and commercial oversight, from equipment procurement to installation sequencing and project handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client communications related to mechanical engineering deliverables.

  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure integration of mechanical services.

  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for mechanical construction activities.

  • Complete all mechanical system deliverables on schedule while ensuring compliance with safety criteria.

  • Sequence installation of pipework and mechanical systems in coordination with the project schedule.

  • Assist in the commercial management of the project, including validation, procurement, and engagement with specialist sub-contractors and suppliers.

  • Document and cost changes to work scopes; prepare monthly valuations and final account submissions.

  • Support the wider project team to ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering on large-scale construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in data centre environments.

  • Proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients and subcontractors.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

  • Commercial awareness, including costing changes and supporting project valuations.

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach with attention to detail.
