We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join a large-scale data centre development in  Sweden, working with a leading international contractor delivering hyperscale data centre projects across Europe.

Role Overview

The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will support the delivery of the mechanical commissioning package on a large-scale data centre project. Working closely with the Commissioning Manager, project teams and specialist vendors, you will ensure all mechanical systems are installed, tested and commissioned in line with project specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of mechanical commissioning plans, schedules and strategies in coordination with the wider commissioning team
• Monitor mechanical installation works to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards and safety regulations prior to testing
• Supervise and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) for mechanical plant including chillers, AHUs and CRAH units
• Coordinate with subcontractors and equipment vendors to ensure attendance on site in line with commissioning schedules
• Review, manage and approve commissioning documentation including method statements, risk assessments, test scripts and compliance statements
• Ensure all red-line drawings, commissioning records and handover documentation are accurate and up to date
• Actively monitor contractor works and manage snagging and punch list processes to achieve zero-defect handover
• Attend and contribute to daily and weekly commissioning meetings with internal teams and vendors
• Ensure all commissioning activities are carried out in full compliance with project Health, Safety and Environmental (EHS) requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a relevant trade background with substantial engineering experience
• Previous experience in a mechanical commissioning or mechanical engineering role within a construction environment
• Data centre, pharmaceutical or industrial project experience is highly advantageous
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems within a design & build environment
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is desirable but not essential
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Project
