Oradeo Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join a leading contractor in Dublin. This role is responsible for overseeing the commercial and contractual performance of multiple projects, ensuring effective risk management, strong financial outcomes, and compliance with company policies. The successful candidate will provide leadership to commercial teams while acting as a key link between project delivery teams and senior management.

 

Senior Commercial Manager Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple projects from tender stage through to final account
  • Review, negotiate, and oversee execution of all contractual documentation prior to project commencement
  • Manage commercial teams to ensure accurate reporting, valuations, cash flow management, and risk mitigation
  • Provide commercial input during tendering, procurement, and contract negotiations
  • Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities across all projects
  • Implement internal control and risk management procedures across allocated projects
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and supply chain performance
  • Drive margin protection and improvement through effective commercial controls
  • Support dispute avoidance and resolution in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented across the commercial function
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and development for Quantity Surveyors and junior commercial staff

 

Necessary Skills & Requirements:

 

  • Significant experience in a Commercial Manager or similar role within a Tier 1 contractor environment
  • Proven track record of delivering strong commercial outcomes on major construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, and risk mitigation
  • Experience managing and developing commercial teams
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence financial performance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Desirable:

 

  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB)
  • Experience across multiple sectors including infrastructure, commercial, and industrial projects
  • Familiarity with digital commercial systems and reporting tools
