Senior Engineer | Data Centre Projects | Netherlands (Eemshaven)

Oradeo Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading contractor on major data centre projects in the Netherlands. This role will see you take responsibility for the engineering function on site, providing leadership, technical expertise, and ensuring high standards of quality, setting out, and project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

Senior Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering function on site, providing technical direction and support to site engineers and junior team members
  • Manage all aspects of setting out, dimensional control, and survey activities across the project
  • Ensure accurate as-built surveys are completed and recorded for key project elements
  • Maintain detailed daily site records and engineering documentation
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, including the development and implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Monitor compliance with project specifications, tolerances, and quality standards
  • Manage non-conformance procedures, ensuring timely close-out of issues and minimising defects
  • Coordinate temporary works and support lifting operations where required
  • Review and prepare method statements and risk assessments
  • Manage the RFI process, identifying and resolving design or information gaps
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures, including permits and risk control measures
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure efficient project delivery

 

Necessary Skills & Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Significant experience in a Senior Engineer role on large-scale construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of setting out, dimensional control, and surveying techniques
  • Proven experience in quality assurance, including ITPs and non-conformance management
  • Experience across key trades such as piling, geotechnical works, substructures, and structural elements
  • Strong understanding of temporary works coordination and site safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital construction systems (e.g. common data environments)
  • Experience managing and mentoring engineering teams

 

Desirable:

  • Temporary Works Coordinator training
  • Lifting operations and appointed person certification
  • Scaffold inspection/awareness training
  • Experience with planning and programming software
