Oradeo Recruitment are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering high-profile construction projects across Kerry and the surrounding region. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this role is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of one major project or multiple concurrent projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

 

The successful candidate will provide leadership across all aspects of project delivery, coordinating design teams, commercial teams, subcontractors, and site personnel while maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers excellent career progression within an established contractor delivering a strong pipeline of work.

 

Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

 

  • Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to handover
  • Lead and manage site teams including Site Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, and project support staff
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery
  • Manage design coordination, RFIs, technical queries, and design development to ensure efficient project execution
  • Develop and monitor project programmes, ensuring key milestones and delivery targets are achieved
  • Coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors, and materials to maintain programme and productivity
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure projects remain within budget and commercial objectives are achieved
  • Monitor project performance and prepare regular progress reports for senior management
  • Chair project coordination and site management meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards while promoting a strong safety culture
  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
  • Manage project documentation and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

 

Necessary Skills & Requirements:

 

  • Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor delivering building or civil engineering projects
  • Previous progression through a Senior Site Engineer or Senior Project Engineer role
  • Strong experience managing reinforced concrete (in-situ frame) construction projects
  • Good understanding of civil engineering works and associated construction methodologies
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing programme, cost, and project delivery
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on programme, and within budget
  • Strong knowledge of Irish construction regulations, health & safety legislation, and quality standards
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Trade qualification or equivalent practical construction experience is advantageous
  • Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Full EU Category B Driving Licence
  • Eligible to work in Ireland
