We are recruiting a Senior EHS Advisor to support multiple construction projects in Dublin, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
Role Overview
The Senior EHS Advisor will be a key member of the project and EHS teams, providing expert guidance on health, safety, and environmental matters. You will work across multiple sites, implementing and monitoring EHS policies, conducting risk assessments, leading audits, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role also includes managing junior EHS staff and liaising with regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company procedures
Develop, review, and maintain risk assessments and method statements to mitigate potential hazards
Deliver training and toolbox talks to site teams and subcontractors, promoting best practices in workplace safety
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, producing detailed reports with recommendations
Ensure safety signage, PPE, and emergency procedures are in place and adhered to on-site
Collaborate with project management teams to implement site-specific Construction Health and Safety Plans
Enforce compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Support environmental initiatives including waste management, pollution control, and energy efficiency
Maintain HSE documentation, including statutory inspections, permits, incident logs, and audit reports
Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies during site inspections
Provide advice on safety performance improvements and risk mitigation strategies
Manage Graduate EHS Advisors and Student EHS placements, allocating workload across multiple sites
Provide HammerTech training and support for new and existing staff
Support ISO audit preparation and ESG/sustainability initiatives including tender submissions and pre-qualifications
Undertake additional instructor training (e.g., Working at Heights, Fire Awareness)
Participate in high-level meetings with senior management and clients regarding HSE performance
Candidate Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of EHS regulations, risk assessment, and hazard identification
Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and safety performance data analysis
Expertise in management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and staff
Ability to manage and mentor junior EHS personnel
Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and safety excellence
