We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to join a large-scale data centre development in Sweden, working with a leading international contractor delivering hyperscale data centre projects across Europe.

Role Overview

The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the supervision, coordination and execution of electrical commissioning activities on site. This role will involve close collaboration with vendors, project teams and quality departments to ensure commissioning milestones are achieved safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all commissioning-related activities for electrical vendors on site
• Ensure full compliance with defined scopes of work and commissioning procedures
• Monitor vendor progress against commissioning programmes and milestones
• Communicate deadlines and commissioning requirements to all stakeholders
• Supervise and report on commissioning programme progress and critical path activities
• Attend and, where required, witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Factory Witness Tests (FWTs)
• Organise, attend and contribute to daily and weekly commissioning meetings with internal teams and vendors
• Prepare and issue weekly commissioning progress reports to commissioning management
• Coordinate with QA/QC and Authorised Person (AP) teams to achieve common project objectives
• Track, review and obtain approval for commissioning documentation including test scripts, compliance statements and procedures
• Witness all vendor commissioning activities in line with approved project documentation
• Track receipt, review and compliance of commissioning documentation to achieve required system sign-off
• Manage commissioning tagging processes and procedures
• Carry out day-to-day on-site commissioning operations
• Ensure commissioning activities are executed in line with EHS and quality requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or an electrical trade with appropriate training (e.g. NVQ)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commissioning role within construction environments
• Experience on commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical or data centre projects is highly desirable
• Experience commissioning LV/MV or HV electrical systems
• Electrical testing and verification experience (minimum 3 years preferred)
• Strong understanding of construction environments and site safety requirements
• Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to act decisively
• Process-driven approach with a strong focus on EHS and quality management systems
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
