Oradeo Recruitment is currently seeking a Head of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) for a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering landmark data centre, life sciences, and commercial projects across Ireland and mainland Europe. This is a strategic, high-impact leadership position ideal for an experienced professional ready to shape and drive the company’s M&E delivery model at a pan-European level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level leadership across all mechanical and electrical functions within the business

  • Oversee planning, design, execution, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems on major projects

  • Develop and implement M&E strategies, standardized processes, and best practices across regions

  • Lead and mentor M&E project teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives and project milestones

  • Collaborate with project directors, clients, and design teams to ensure technical excellence and innovation

  • Manage project resourcing, budgets, and risk in relation to M&E scope

  • Ensure all systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols

  • Support business development, tendering, and client presentations as the M&E subject matter expert

  • Stay current on emerging technologies and regulations within the data centre and life sciences sectors

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or similar

  • 10+ years’ experience in M&E project delivery, including large-scale, high-tech builds (e.g. data centres, pharma, commercial)

  • Proven leadership in a senior MEP role with a Tier 1 contractor or consultancy

  • Deep knowledge of international M&E codes, standards, and systems (HV/LV, BMS, HVAC, fire protection, etc.)

  • Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and team development capabilities

  • Strong commercial awareness and experience in budgeting, cost control, and value engineering

  • Willingness to travel between project locations in Ireland and Europe
