Despite little growth, France narrowly avoids recession

Today, the French Central Bank has released forecasts, showing that the economy narrowly dodged a recession in the first quarter of this year. It is estimated that the second-biggest economy in the eurozone (a 2-trillion euro economy) posted a growth of 0.1% in Q1 of 2013. Due to be confirmed by figures release this May, it would appear that this is the country’s third time to evade economic recession since the financial crash of 2008-2009.
